Apple has opened preorders for the iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone, at a price of $1,999. The device was unveiled during the company's "Surprise and shine" event, where it was announced alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 models.
The iPhone Duo features a 5.4-inch outer screen that unfolds to reveal a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display. Apple stated that support for the Apple Pencil is scheduled to arrive later this year. The hardware design includes Ceramic Shield 2 on the back and Ceramic Shield on the front display, along with an IP68 rating.
Security features on the device differ from other recent iPhones; it does not include Face ID for facial unlocking. Instead, the phone utilizes a Touch ID sensor located along its edge to identify fingerprints. The device contains an A20 processor.
